We flew into Denver separately…the family flew in direct from Cleveland, and I flew from Philadelphia. We met up at the Ski House in Beaver Creek on Thursday night, June 17, 2010. The “Great Riding Vacation of 2010″ started the very next morning. I got up, hopped on the bike, and rode from the Ski House (in Beaver Creek) to the top of Vail Pass and back. This was a 53-mile long ride climbing almost 3,500 vertical. I rode smoothly, and didn’t really hit it too hard. However, I had to fight a headwind back the whole way, and my legs definitely felt it later that day!
